Weekend listings

Melton Mowbray: Pork Pie Eating & Elton John look-a-like contest, judged by Elton Mowbray (Britain's leading pork pie maker and Elton John impersonator), Melton Mowbray market square,Saturday 3pm

Gloucester: 18th annual Gloucester badger baiting fair, back room of The Swan & Corduroy, doors open at 7.30pm, Saturday. The Swan & Corduroy is not licensed, so BYOB!*

Knaresborough: WI Jumble Sale & Needle Exchange, Cooper’s Fields, 9am-5pm Sat, 10am-5pm Sun. Screenings and cake available.

Derby: Second coming of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ, Derby Municipal Swimming baths, doors open 2pm Saturday, walking on water from 3pm. Wine provided.

Dunfermline: The Dunfermline Players present the Ben Elton musical ‘Pyscho Candy’, based on the songs of the Jesus & Mary Chain. When mild mannered sweet shop owner Henry Matlock starts hearing murderous voices in the jelly babies, there’s only one way things are going to end - bloodbaths and laughs!
